Home Security

KEY POINTS:

  • Starting immediately, all vacant flyp homes will have the home security system switched on. This system is provided by point and uses noise and motion detection.

  • The goal is to increase security in our empty homes. Empty homes are more at risk or break-ins and theft. We must keep these alarms on so we know if these happen.

  • Alerts will appear in the #pointmonitors channel.

Daily Task for Ops Team - Must be done by 11am.

  1. Open the back office.

  2. Open the Minut Point app

  3. Go through the BO -

  • if the flyp home has no check-in or viewing - make sure that Security Alarm is ‘ON’

  • If the flyp home has a check-in or viewing - turn the Security Alarm to ‘OFF’

  • If the flyp home had a check-out the day before - turn the alarm - ON

Put simple → No guest/viewing - Alarm should be ON!

What happens when an alert is received?

  • If the alarm is on and someone enters the home, the alarm will sound in the home and will also send an alert on Slack.

  • The Ops lead for that shift must then answer the following in Slack:

  1. Is there a scheduled viewing or contractor today? (Yes/No)

  2. Is their a booking in the home? (Y/N)

  3. Is there a ninja in the home? - Ask Fort/Queso (Yes/No - if no response for 20 mins or after 6pm assume No)

  4. Is another member of staff in the home? - Ask in #general - tag @here and add URGENT - (If no response within 20 mins or after 6pm assume NO)

  • If you answered YES to one of the above - UPDATE the #pointmonitors channel with who was in the home.

  • If you answered NO to all above or have waited 20 mins with no response or it is between 10pm and 7am then:

  1. If within ninja hours → ask a ninja to attend urgently (within 1 hour)

  2. If outside ninja hours or ninja does not respond for 30 mins → call securitas and send them.

  3. If between 10pm and 7am → Call securitas immediately

  • Always post in #pointmonitors the action you are taking.

Important Notes

The security of our homes is always urgent. When an alert is received, you must work to answer the question - was their a break-in to the home?

You must work to find an answer quickly - the target time is within 1 hour and you must have an answer by the end of your shift. This task should be treated with urgency.

How to disable the alarm when triggered?

If an alarm notification is received, the alarm will be ringing in the home. Once you know the reason for the alarm (e.g a guest or neighbour), you will need to turn the alarm off. The alarm cannot be disabled from the desktop version of point. This needs to be done via the app - please download the Minut app.
